What We Do

At each of our carefully planned sessions, members can participate in a range of activities or have time to simply sit and chat over a cup of tea.

Getting Together...

• Gives us time to listen to others and to talk about thoughts, feelings and emotions
• Enables us to ask for help or information
• Stimulates associations and memories as we enjoy talking about the past and sharing each others stories and memorabilia
• Offers a chance to share thoughts and feelings on how to manage the changes in life with others in a similar position
• Acknowledges and affirms the value of each individual and their personal story

Playing Games...

• Encourages concentration and alertness
• Gets the body moving, muscles working and improves balance
• Promotes self-confidence
• Gives us the space to laugh, mess about and be as silly as we like

Arts & Crafts...

• Allows us to express ourselves through our imagination
• Uses images or objects from the past as a starting point to trigger memories and associations
• Allows us to enjoy sharing what we create 
• Enables us to work together to create joint pieces of art, which is great fun

Singing...

• Promotes a sense of belonging and well-being by joining voices together
• Stimulates memory through familiar tunes
• Makes our voices clearer by exercising our mouth, neck and lungs
• Helps keep our faces mobile and expressive by strengthening facial muscles
• Allows us to express ourselves

Dancing...

• Helps us connect with others in a non-verbal way, using music and movement
• Facilitates self-expression
• Evokes memories by exploring familiar music and dances
• Exercises the brain and body

Sharing Tea & Cake...

• Provides a wonderful opportunity for people to connect with each other in an informal and supportive setting
• Gives us an opportunity to celebrate birthdays and other special occasions
• Gives us space to just enjoy each others' company
